On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said "Verily Allah has 99 Names - one hundred less one - whoever (Ahsaha) learns, understands and believes in them will enter paradise".

[Bukhari in His Saheeh in "Kitab ad-Da'awaat", hadith no. 5931. His sanad is: 'Ali bin Abdillah, Sufyan, from Abi Az-Zinaad, from Al-A'raj, from Abu Hurairah, from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.); and Muslim in his Saheeh in "Kitab adh-Dhikr wad-Du'a". hadith no.4835. His sanad is: 'Amr an-Naaqid, Zuhair bin Harb, Abi 'Umar, from Abi az-Zinaad, from Al-A'raj, from Abi Hurairah from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.).]

The first Name in the text refers to the Attribute of Allah. The repetition preceded by 'Ya' refers to the appeal to that Attribute.

The beautiful Name 'Allah' is the proper Name for the Creator and Sustainer, Whose Will holds supreme in the universe, and Who alone is worthy of the highest honour, the greatest respect and admiration, and is the One and Only.

The beautiful Name 'Allah' is complete, and any other name is a poor substitute.

Unlike the word 'god', the word Allah in Arabic, has no gender, no number (plural) or uncountable, and always with the definite acticle "alif and lam" (the), while the word god in English is countable (plural) and has gender, for example, it could be 'gods, goddess etc.'.

The use of the beautiful Name 'Allah' is much more appropriate to describe 'The Oneness of God'.
